Triethylamine (0.49 ml, 3.5 mmol) was added to a stirred solution of ethyl 5-amino-1-methyl-pyrazole-4- carboxylate (0.50 g, 3.0 mmol) in dichloromethane (30 ml) at 0C. Characterising data for the compound are as follows: 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCI3) oe 7.97 (s, 1 H), 4.34 (t,2H), 3.92 (s, 3H), 3.51 (s, 3H) and 1.36 (t, 3H) ppm.
